1. You must believe the truth of God's Word that you need to be saved from your sins.
You must acknowledge that you have sinned against God, that you have done wickedness, that you are guilty of unrighteousness.
Isaiah 53:6a - "All we like sheep have gone astray . . . ." Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Ecclesiastes 7:20 - "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:10 - "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:19b - ". . . That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God."
You must acknowledge that you deserve the judgment of God because of your sinfulness.
Romans 6:23a - "For the wages of sin is death . . . ." Revelation 20:14-15 - "And death and hell were cast into the the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." 2 Thessalonians 1:9 - "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power."
You must acknowledge that you can do absolutely nothing to save yourself from your sinfulness.
Isaiah 64:6a - "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags . . . ." Romans 3:20 - "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight . . . ." Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Titus 3:5a - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us . . . ."
2. You must believe the truth of God's Word that God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the only way of salvation -- through His shed blood, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection.
You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross in your place for your sinfulness.
Romans 5:6-8 - "For when we were without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth [demonstrated] his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Isaiah 53:5a - "But he was wounded for our transgres-sions, he was bruised for our iniquities . . . ." 1 Peter 2:4a - "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree . . . ."
You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God the Son, and that He rose again from the dead.
John 20:31 - "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believ-ing ye might have life through his name." Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 4:25 - "Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification."
You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only Way of eternal salvation from your sinfulness.
Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." John 14:6 - "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." 1 John 5:11-12 - "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." Acts 4:12 - "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ can and will save you from your sinfulness.
John 1:29 - "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." Luke 19:10 - "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." John 6:37b - ". . . And him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." Hebrews 7:25 - "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
3. You must obey the commandment of God's Word to believe and call upon God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as your personal Savior from sin.
You must personally choose from your heart to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
John 3:16-18 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son
into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him
might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:36 - "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 1:12 - "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
You
must personally and purposefully call in faith from your heart unto the
Lord Jesus Christ, asking Him to save you from your sinfulness.
Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Luke 18:13 - "And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner."
You should call upon the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and receive Him as your Savior RIGHT NOW!
2 Corinthians 6:2b - ". . . Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." Hebrews 4:7b - ". . . As it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts." Proverbs 27:1 - "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

A SAMPLE PRAYER
Dear
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a wicked sinner. I know that I am guilty
of sinfulness in God's sight, and that I deserve God's judgment for my
sinfulness. And I know that I can do absolutely nothing to save myself
from my sinfulness. Yet I also know and believe that You, as God the
Son, died on the cross and rose again from the dead to save me from my
sinfulness. Lord, I do now trust in You and ask You -- Please, save me
from my sin. Please, save me from condemnation in hell; and grant to me
the gracious gift of everlasting life. Even so, believing in the
absolute truth of your promise, I do now thank you for saving me from
all my sin and for granting me everlasting life. Amen.
(Please
note: The words of this prayer are not magical words. If you do not
mean this prayer from your heart, it will do you no good whatsoever.)
MY DECISION TO RECEIVE JESUS AS MY SAVIOR
There
is one decision in life that is more important than any other. It is
the decision to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
If you have received the Lord Jesus Christ through faith as your Savior
from sin, you have been born again spiritually into the family of God as
a child of God. John 1:12 states, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
You may now record the day that you made this most important decision
as your spiritual birthday. We invite you to inform us of your decision
by filling out the following notification; and if you live in our area,
we invite you to join with us in the next available church service.
