Ladies, how would you respond to that
offer? Let's imagine (strictly hypothetical, of course) that your furniture is
100% early Beirut. By Beirut furniture, I mean furniture that has been through
a lot of unnecessary wars. The springs sag. The upholstery snags. It is covered
in rags. You called Goodwill once, and they came and offered to give you $10 to
keep the stuff. So here comes the most trusted person you know offering to haul
off all that junk for nothing and pay whatever price is necessary to replace it
with the very best. How long would it take you to decide?
Suppose you drove up to church, and as
you pulled your 1963 junkmobile into the parking lot, the usual cloud of smoke
ascending into the air behind your clattering tailpipe, your best friend pulls
up next to you in his new Mercedes. After you pried your door open with the
screwdriver that you keep in the glove box just for that purpose, you try to
act nonchalant in the process. You greet your friends in the new Mercedes
without even an evident glint of envy in your carbon monoxide filled eyes. Now
suppose that friend offers to trade you even. That's right. Even. Your lemon
for his limo. No cost. No strings attached. How long would you have to ponder
whether or not that was a viable offer?
Now, our God has made us an offer that
makes the two situations I've just described pale into insignificance. He has
offered to take our old lives and make them new, brand new. Second Corinthians
5:17 is the card tucked in with the offer. It says, Therefore, if any man is
IN CHRIST, he is a new creation. Old
things are passing away. Behold, all
things are becoming new. So God has offered to take your clattering,
smoking junkmobile of a life and trade it for a brand new model Christmobile.
He has offered to take the tattered and torn furnishings of your life and clean
house. He will replace every single item with brand new Eternity, His favorite
brand. You say, what an offer! God has offered you a new life on earth.
But He has gone one step farther. He has
even said, "This new life is just temporary. One day soon, I'm going to
take that life in trade for something SO MUCH BETTER that you'll need new eyes
just to look at it." He will tuck in another card with a verse from
Revelation 21:5 that says, Behold, I make ALL things new. Then the
process will have been replaced by the product. The prayer will give way to the
promise. He who began a good work in you will have completed it. God will have
made ALL THINGS NEW.
When He'll do that, and what it will be like is the
basic subject of this, our final look at the events on the horizon, "Once
The King Has Come." This is the eighth and final lesson of a series on the
Second Coming of Christ. Our title for this final excursion into the vistas of
tomorrow is simply, "Behold, I Make All Things New." Our outline will
look like this:
I- Reason versus Reality - A look at
these events through God's eyes
II- One Thousand Years of Christmas - A
look at the millennial reign of Christ
III- The Tempter's Final Fling - A look
at Satan's last stand
IV- The Judge, The Jury and The Judgment
- A look a the Great
 White
Throne Judgment
V- Behold, I Make All Things New - A
look at the New Jerusalem
As you can see, we have 1,000 years plus
eternity to cover in one lesson, so please be understanding at the speed with
which we move. Incidentally, our textbook as we travel will be the book of
Revelation, chapters 20, 21 and 22. I have heard many comments regarding this
study. Some people are very encouraged. Others are very skeptical. To some, the
concept of Jesus Christ scooping up the Church into the air, hosting some
gigantic marriage feast in the heavenlies, passing out crowns to be laid at His
feet and then riding into history to do battle with the kings of this earth on
the plains of Armageddon are simply not believable. To some, these, the most
important events ever to take place in our lives, sound more like science
fiction than spiritual truth.
I- Reason versus Reality
If you are one of those people with
nagging doubts, I have just a few questions to ask you before we go on with
this final lesson.
1- Do you believe that Eve was really
deceived by a flaky snake? I do! God said she was!
2- Do you believe a man named Noah built
a huge floating zoo that survived a flood that drowned the whole world? I do!
God said he did. And I believe that one day soon, we'll see that ark!
3- Do you believe a man named Jonah
intentionally missed the boat and ended up as a dinner instead of a diner in a
slimy ocean liner? I do! My God said it happened.
4- Do you believe that a man named Moses
used an instrument called the Rod of God and turned a rock into the world's
first water fountain and that when the sea saw his rod, it was instant
evaporation? I do! God said it did!
5- Do you believe that a man named
Joshua took a city called Jericho with the strangest battle plan in the history
of human warfare? I do! God said he did!
6- Do you believe that God, Himself, the
creator of all things, came to earth in human form, was born in a stable,
worked in a carpenter's shop, chose out twelve men to build His kingdom, one of
whom was a traitor and the other eleven of whom fled like cowards when He was
betrayed?
7- Do you believe God died on a Roman
cross between two thieves, was buried in a borrowed tomb and on the third day
triumphantly conquered death?
8- Do you believe He came back to earth
and then ascended gloriously into the heavens to be with the Father and that He
ever liveth to make intercession for us?
You may say, of course, I believe that!
Then beloved, marriage feasts and raptures, awards ceremonies and thousand year
reigns shouldn't pose a problem for you! If you believe Jesus was born of a
virgin, was crucified at Calvary and ascended into heaven, then Acts 1:8-11
ought to settle the question of His coming again. Let's turn to that passage,
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power,
after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost
part of the earth.
9 And when He had spoken these things,
while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their
sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly
toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, "Ye men of
Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up
from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into
heaven."
Beloved, Jesus is coming again!
He is coming dramatically. He is coming visibly. He is coming conclusively. He
is coming triumphantly! He is coming just as He said He would to do just what
He said He would do. The issue isn't how logical it seems to you. The issue is
whether or not God said it would happen. If He did, it will. Your only choice
is whether or not to believe it. The issue is the difference between reason and
reality. Christianity is reasonable, but it is not the product of human reason.
In fact, it is usually in conflict with human reason, because human reason is
the result of logic which Satan has deliberately imposed on this world's system
of thinking. By definition then, reason is that which the natural mind can
either conceive or believe. But remember, the natural mind receives not the
things of the spirit.
In contrast, reality is "that which
God says in Scripture is true." So if God says a fish had a Jonah
sandwich, will you believe the Word of God? You must simply make a choice
between reason and reality. And remember, God chose to confound the wise with
what the wise calls foolishness in order to set apart the Truth of the kingdom
to make it discernible only to those who possess His Spirit. Jesus is coming
again! If you are not a Christian, of course it sounds foolish to you. If you
are a Christian, you must simply choose between reason and reality. If God said
it, it will happen. Everything else He has ever promised has come to pass
exactly as He predicted. The end times will be no different.
II- One Thousand Years of Christmas!
Let us then go on and discover the
reality of God's promises. When we left the events of eternity at the end of
Revelation 19, the Lord had descended in a cloud of glory just as He had
promised. With a word from His lips, He silenced the rebellion on earth,
destroyed the armies that overtly challenged His Lordship, and cast both the
Beast and the False Prophet alive into the lake of fire which was running with
brimstone.
We take up reading then, with the next
passage in chapter 20, verse 1,
Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down
from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his
hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that
old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit,
and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no
more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be
loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon
them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not
worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon
their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a
thousand years.
Six times in the first seven verses of
chapter 20, John mentions the phrase 1,000 years. You say, "What does it
mean?" I'd say it means 1,000 years! It is that time in history that is
referred to as the millennium. This comes from the Latin word which simply
means 1,000 years. To some people this is a difficult truth, because it doesn't
seem reasonable. But you must simply choose between reason and reality.
This thousand year reign of Christ on
earth is so clearly defined in Old Testament writings that one scholar noted,
"the teaching of the Old Testament concerning the millennium is so
complete that the Jews had succeeded in developing it entirely themselves
without possessing the gifts furnished later by the New Testament." They
had indeed affirmed that the Messianic Kingdom would last 1,000 years.
We will not dwell on it in this lesson
as wonderful as it would be, but will only leave you some facts and some
Scriptures to use in a study if you would like to do some further research on
your own. So, here are some facts about that wonderful time to come that is
called the "Millennium."
1- It will last 1,000 years - Revelation
20.
2- During that time, Satan will be
bound, but not for good - Revelation 20:1-10.
3- God Himself will rule - Isaiah 2:2-4,
Daniel 2:44-45, Zechariah 14, Matthew 25:31-46 and Revelation 20:1-10.
4- The world capital will in all
likelihood be Jerusalem - Isaiah 2, Ezekiel 48 and Zechariah 14.
5- Those who have rejected Christ in the
previous ages will not be present - Revelation 20:4-6.
6- Israel will at last possess ALL of
the promised land -
Genesis 15:14-18 and 17:6-19, Isaiah 60,
and Ezekiel 47-48.
7- The Holy Spirit will be poured out
upon all flesh - Isaiah 32, Ezekiel 36 and Joel 2.
8- The glory of God will be revealed
continually - Isaiah 4 and Ezekiel 43.
9- Divine healing will be a reality at
last for all - Isaiah 32:1-5 and 35:3-6, Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24.
10- There will be universal peace -
Isaiah 2:4 and 9:6-7; Micah 4; and Malachi 1:11.
11- There will be universal prosperity -
Isaiah 2:2 and 65:20-25; and Micah 4:4-5.
12- The light from the planets will
increase seven fold - Isaiah 30:26 and 60:18-22.
13- The curse will be lifted upon the
animal kingdom - Isaiah 11:6-8 .
14- The curse will be removed from
nature as well - Isaiah 35:1-10 and 55:12-13; Ezekiel 36 and Amos 9.
In short, God will re-create planet
earth the way He originally intended it to be before the fall. He will,
Himself, rule with a rod of iron. He will put down rebellion, fulfill His
everlasting covenants made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David. He will
restore Israel, exalt the saints, and gather together all things in heaven and
on earth. He will judge the nations in righteousness and restore righteous
government. He will fulfill the hundreds of prophecies given in Scripture
concerning the rule of the Messiah in the kingdom to come.
The King will rule His kingdom. I will
be there, and if you know Christ as your personal Savior, you will be there,
too. There will be joy and peace, holiness and justice, healing and freedom,
prosperity and worship as God intended it to be. There is much we do not know.
But we will know when we need to know, and we DO know it will happen. It will
last 1,000 years, no more and no less. It is a fact, not a guess. A thousand
years of Christmas, of peace on earth, goodwill towards men. It will be ours at
last.
One thing we do know for sure about the
millennium is that those who have died without Christ will have no part in it.
Revelation 20:5 assures us of that,
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived
not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first
resurrection.
We also know that the redeemed will rule
with Him.
20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath
part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but
they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand
years.
III- The Tempter's Final Fling
But this thousand year Christmas will
come to an unusual conclusion according to verse 7,
20:7 And when the thousand years are
expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison and shall go out to deceive
the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth.
You may be asking, "Why would God
do a thing like that? Why would the Tempter be given one final fling?" The
late Dr. Chafer, founder of Dallas Theological Seminary, answered that question
this way, "If you will tell me why God let him loose in the first place, I
will tell you why God lets him loose the second time." Perhaps God lets
him loose at the end of the millennium to reveal that the ideal conditions of
the kingdom, even under the personal reign of Christ, do not change the human
heart. Apart from the transformation of salvation, man still lives in absolute
rebellion to the will of God. There will still be some, even in this garden of
perfection, who, like Eve, when confronted with the Tempter's choice once again
will choose the role of the rebel.
But, praise God, this time, Satan's
downfall will be quick and final. We read in verses 9-10,
20:9 And they went up on the breadth of
the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city:
and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was
cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet
are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
You say, "Is hell real?" Of
course it is! It is not a matter of reason. It is a matter of reality! God said
it is.
Satan had been locked up in a vault in
verses 2-3, with a seal on the door that could not be broken for 1,000 years.
Then God Himself releases the enemy for one final fling, proving again the
depravity of man apart from the grace of God. He then delivers Satan personally
to his new permanent address, a flaming inferno, eternally just out of reach of
the fire department. The great tormentor of mankind will be tormented day and
night for all eternity. That's reality. God said it.
IV- Judge, Jury and Judgment
Then those who have never come to God on
God's terms through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, will be judged. Hell will
be a reality for them, too. Let's read verses 11-15
20:11 And I saw a great white throne,
and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and
there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great,
stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which
is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were
written in the books,
according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which
were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and
they were judged
every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the
lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written
in the book of life
was cast into the lake of fire.
These would be good verses to memorize.
This passage ought to be one of the most sobering in all of Scripture, to the
believer and the unbeliever alike. It is the New Testament confirmation of an
Old Testament promise given in Daniel 7:9-10,
Dan. 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were
cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow,
and the hair of His head like the pure wool: His throne was like the fiery
flame, and His wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth
from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times
ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
We have been listening for weeks to the
glorious promises held in store for those who have come to God on God's terms,
by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. The Scriptures have been up until now,
intentionally silent on the plight of those who have chosen to stand before God
based on their own righteousness rather than on the righteousness of the King.
Now the silence ends. They are resurrected to stand before a Great White
Throne.
The Judge on that throne will be Jesus
Christ, Himself. 2 Timothy 4:1 tells us, He shall judge the living and the
dead at His appearing. John 5 echoes, The Father judgeth no man, but
hath committed all judgment unto the Son. Jesus will be the Judge. He will
have in His hand the book of Life. He will search its pages in vain for the
names of those standing before Him. None of their names will be found. For all
those whose names are in that book have already been resurrected. Yet, He must
look, for that book is the only basis for man's deliverance. The names found in
that book are those who came to God based on the work of God at Calvary.
Then Jesus, having found none of their
names recorded in the Book of Life, begins to pen the books of the works of
men. Each man will be judged according to his own works. However, "all
have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." There will be "none
righteous, no not one." The righteousness they relied upon will be
seen by the eyes of a Holy God as "filthy rags" and He will
not be able to look upon them.
So every man, every woman, every boy and
every girl who has not received Jesus Christ personally and knowingly had his
or her name recorded in the volume of eternity, will be condemned, not by God
but by their own works. A righteous God, who in mercy offered them deliverance,
must now execute judgment in order for His righteousness to be faithful. So
verse 15 records, whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was
cast into the lake of fire. May I remind you that hell is as much a literal
place as heaven is?
May I also remind you one last time that
there are only two classes of people who will ever stand before God. The first
are those who come to Him as sinners seeking a Savior. The second are those who
come to Him in their own righteousness. All of the former will spend eternity
in heaven. All of the latter will spend eternity in hell.
May I also remind you that it is not the
will of God that any should perish. Like a tender shepherd, He leaves the
ninety-nine to search for the one who still remains lost. What He desires for
you is eternity in His presence, unending joy, eternal peace and perfect love.
But, He will not force His way into your heart.
Every person must make a deliberate
choice to ask Him in. You may concoct your own plan of salvation and foolishly
imagine that God will adopt it, but you are relying on human reasoning and
denying godly reality. The reality is that either you are dead in your
trespasses and sins, or you are alive to God through the shed blood of His Son,
Jesus Christ. If you don't know which you are, chances are you are not alive in
Christ. Don't tell me that you can lie down in the cemetery and not tell the difference
between the living and the dead. If you are alive, you'll know it. If you are
not alive, you are dead in your sins, and you will one day stand before a holy
God. Having rejected His offer of righteousness, you will stand before Him
condemned by your own. I plead with you, take the time now and make it your
moment of truth.
Every man and woman has at least one
moment of truth. It is that time when God's flaming fire of conviction touches
your life, and you KNOW at that instant that you are separated from a God of
holiness because of your sin and that God has paid the price for your
redemption. This poem describes that experience. It is an experience that could
be yours right now.
Moment of Truth
In each man's life there comes a time
In sunset or in youth,
When face to face his spirit comes
To that soul-searching "Moment of
Truth."
To some, it may come in a time of great
joy,
To some, in an hour of strife;
To many it comes upon hearing the Word,
Or seeing it vibrant in life.
As the hands of conviction descend upon
man
Though thrilling the life may have been,
The fire of Calvary pierces the past
And in a moment of Truth ... it is sin!
The echo of footsteps... the cry in the
dark,
Those events man cannot understand,
Seem to point toward a time when the
soul is exposed
And the Moment of Truth is at hand!
Deceptively, something says,
"Someday I will."
And the light more revealing now glows,
As satanic impressions keep flooding the
mind,
"Will this Moment of Truth never
close?"
Then, to many, praise God, the Moment of
Truth
As billows of fire fill the soul,
Mean surrender to God...and union with
Christ
And the blood of the Lamb makes them
whole.
The fire subsides; the heart finds new
joy,
And an indwelling peace comes to pass.
In a Moment of Truth, the soul found its
rest
And forgiveness for sins of the past.
Yet to others, this selfsame Moment of
Truth
Finds its chance to redeem denied,
And ears waxed closed reveal a heart
With an unwanted Savior outside.
Will another time come? We pray that it
shall.
Yet the soul finds no promise within
That the still, small voice in that
Moment of Truth
Will ever return again.
To someone, that Moment of Truth we laud
Is beckoning even this hour,
And faintly, within that sin-scarred
heart
There's a rumbling of God's latent
power.
In the name of our Lord, who on
Calvary's Hill
Bore all of YOUR sins on that tree,
I beseech you to hearken this Moment of
Truth
And forever in Him to be free.
Ceasing never to sing... Hosannas to God
For as long as His grace shall allow.
May the Spirit proclaim in His marvelous
name
That the Moment of Truth... is now!
What John has told us in Revelation 20
is that those who ignore their "moment of truth" in this life, must
eventually face it as they stand before a holy God and hear Him say,
"Depart from Me, I never knew you." The Great White Throne Judgment
is a reality. Christ is the Judge. Man's works is the jury. Condemned is the
verdict. Not a one of you need ever stand there, not one! If you do, you do so
because in your moment of truth, you refused to let the Truth come into your
life.
But praise God for those who say,
"Yes!" to Jesus. The story has a different ending. I have a hard time
not crying with joy when I read the passage in Revelation 21:1-7,
21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new
earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was
no more sea.
2 And I, John, saw the holy city, new
Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for
her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of
heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will
dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with
them, and be their God."
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne
said,"Behold, I make all things new." And He said unto me, "Write:
for these words are true and faithful."
6 And He said unto me, "It is done.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is
athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 "He that overcometh shall inherit
all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son."
I believe this is my favorite passage in
all of Scripture, because here God has taken a photograph of eternity and laid
it against the backdrop of the sorrow and weeping that is so characteristic of
this life. He then says, "Beloved, it'll soon be done." Oh, what life
will be like, when God restores life as He intended it to be. The
characteristics of this "new life" are etched in the golden strands
of those last two chapters of God's Word so that no one who knows Christ need
ever be without a spirit of excitement over what is yet to come. There are two
major characteristics of this time:
1- We will have the personal presence of
God. He will dwell WITH
us, and we with HIM. We will be His people, and He will be our God. Sin will be
gone. All that interferes with our fellowship will have evaporated, and we will
see Him as He is! Our spiritual eyes will behold Him in all His glory. The
excitement we sense today as we read His Word and pray and experience His
presence through His Spirit will be multiplied beyond our comprehension. We
will BE His people the way He intends us to be. We will have perfect, unbroken
fellowship with the King. So personal will be our relationship with Christ,
that verse 4 tells us that He will come to each of us PERSONALLY and wipe away
every tear from our eyes. He has allowed those tears in this life to blur our
vision of this life and to open our eyes to His Lordship. On that day, He will
come Himself to wipe away every tear. What a day!
2. There will be the absence of all that
offends. Just as Christ
will be ever present, sin and all sin has caused will be conspicuously absent.
Thus, John can joyfully announce the following things to us in verses 5-6.
a- There will be no more death. Death,
the result of the presence of sin in the world, will be abolished and man will
live forever. There will never be another funeral. There will never be another
bereaved spouse. There will never be another trip to the cemetery. Death is
swallowed up in victory. It will be a thing of the past! What a day! All things
are become new!
b- There will be no more sorrow. The
word sorrow is translated here to literally mean mourning or wailing. There
will be no grief over hurts or misunderstandings. There will be no grief over
sickness or disease. There will be no grief over physical sufferings. There
will be no more sorrow over lost jobs, lost friendships, lost finances,
rebellious children, broken homes or crimes. No more sin equals no more sorrow.
What a day! All things are become new!
c- There will be no more crying. When
God wipes away those tears from our eyes, tears will cease to be. There will be
no more crying, because there will be no more cause to cry. The Scripture says
weeping endures for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Then it will be
morning! What a day! All things will become new!
d- There will be no more pain. PRAISE
GOD! No hospitals, no doctors, no ambulances, no medicine, no disease, no
injuries, no blindness, no deafness, no pain. No one will be crippled or
retarded or emotionally distraught. No screams of agony. No cancer. No heart
attacks. No aches and pains. No agony of age. No more pain. What a day! All
things will become new!
e- There will be no limit on spiritual
blessings. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end,"
Jesus proclaimed, "I will give unto Him that is athirst of the fountain of
water of life freely." We will be given all we can drink! There will be no
absence of spiritual hunger. There will be no limit to how much of God's glory
we can receive at His hand. The more we want, the more we drink at the fountain
of life and the more we will know Him. What a day! All things are become new!
Read the rest of Revelation 21 and
behold the majesty of the city. Take note of two important characteristics of
the city. Verse 22 tells us that there will be no temple there for the Lord God
Almighty and the Lamb are the temple. Verse 23 says,
21:22 The city has not need for the sun
neither of the moon to shine in it; for the Glory of God did lighten it and the
Lamb is the light thereof.
Chapter 22:3 adds,
22:3 And there shall be no more curse;
but the throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it and His servants shall
worship Him,
4 And they shall see His face.
All restrictions will be gone. All
hindrances will be removed. The blinders of sin will be cast asunder. We will
see Him face to face. Remember the song that we've sung throughout this series?
Oh that will be, glory for me,
Glory for me, yes glory for me,
When by His grace I shall look on His
face,
That will be glory, be glory for me!
What a day! All things are become new!
I will not impose a sermon or even a
time of application at the end of this lesson, lest I interfere with the majesty
and grandeur of this passage as it sweeps us into the heavenlies. I would
rather conclude this lesson and this series by simply reading to you from God's
precious Word a responsive reading that takes place between the Church and the
King as it beholds what is about to take place "Once the King Has
Come."
I begins in verse 7 where Jesus whispers
a promise and then promises a blessing. He says,
22:7 "Behold, I come quickly;
blessed is He that keepeth the sayings
of the prophecy of this book."
He adds in verse 12-13 and 16-20 these
words,
22:12 "And, behold, I come quickly;
and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end, the first and the last."
16 "I Jesus have sent Mine angel to
testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring
of David, and the bright and morning star."
17 And the Spirit and the bride say,
"Come." And let him that heareth say, "Come." And let him
that is athirst come. And whosoever will,
let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that
heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these
things, God shall add unto him the
plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from
the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the
book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written
in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things
saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Our response is so thrilling. Let's say
it together,
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
And what a wonderful ending,
22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
be with you all. Amen.
