A
NEW THING - A
NEW SEASON
I
believe the Lord has something tremendous to say concerning the days just ahead.
Isaiah
43 & 16
16
Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea,
and a path in the mighty
waters;
17
Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall
lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as
tow.
18
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
When
we read this in the NIV translation verse 18 says,
18
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past."
19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am
making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
For
several weeks I’ve been hearing another passage of scripture over and over
until it is as though the Lord is making it a part of me.
Ecclesiastes
3;1 says,
1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
To every thing there is a season,
I
think it is possible that we may have overlooked a tremendous truth,
God
said to every thing there is a season. Not to every season there is a
thing. I I believe it’s
safe to say, God uses things to produce or to reveal the seasons.
We
are incline to look for the season to bring new things, but God says, The season
is to the thing! New
things produce or reveal new seasons.
And
when I say "THINGS" don’t get hung up on just material things,
Sometimes
your thing can be your ministry, your business or a relationship. There is
simple no end to the things of God! However, If there are no new things or
different things how can we expect a new or a different season!
The
Apostle Paul gives us tremendous revelation in Phillipians 3 & 13 when he
says,
13
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before,
See
a thing is not only material but it can be an action as well.
It
make us feel good when we sort of pass it off and say, "well in due
season!" But the truth is some people have been waiting for a due
season for 20 years!
God
has been trying to get some into their due season so long that now it is
their "PAST DUE SEASON!" Their healing is past due.
Their victory is past due. Their blessing is past due. You know you were
supposed to have been further along than you are, but the truth is it’s all
past due!!
We
sing He may not come when you want Him but He’ll be there right on time and
this is so true, but it is also true that for many He’s been there time and
time again, when their lives were as the little town of Bethlehem when Jesus
showed up there. They had no room for Him!
Even
though He is the Son of God they have no room for him because the city of their
life is filled with other things!
Every
thing that God did or God does is on purpose and there are no accidents with
God! I don’t care what your Aunt told you. You are not an accident!
There are no accidents with God.
This
big bang theory we hear so much about. Well if there was a BIG BANG it
wasn’t an accident! Everything God does is for purpose and He has an
intention for doing it!
Trees
have a purpose and God has intentions when it comes to trees. They are good for
many things. Wood for building houses and furniture. Wood for keeping warm.
Fruit trees for food. Some trees produce rubber. Some provide shade. There are
thousands of purposes for trees.
Even
rocks and stones were created with purpose. All I’m saying is all God
does is with intention and purpose.
When
it comes to you and me God has intentions! You are a child of purpose! You
were born with purpose! God intended for you and me to be a channel of His
omnipotent power.
Ecclesiastes
3;1 1 To every thing there is
a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
There
is a time for ever purpose. This is your time!
Isaiah
chapter 43, and verse 16
16
Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty
waters;
Here
He is speaking of when Moses led the Children of Israel out of Egypt and out of
Bondage!
He
is reminding Israel of the provisions He made in the past. He said when
Pharaoh and his mighty army were coming to wipe you out, when you saw the cloud
of dust billowing behind you, when you heard the rumbling of the many horses and
chariots,
When
everything in the natural said it’s over, He
said "Didn’t I make a way in the sea and didn’t I make a path in the
midst of the mighty waters?
And
then in verse 17 He says, When the chariots and horses followed you into the
sea, God said, "did not I wipe them out never to rise against you
again?"
Oh
then God says but here’s the deal today,
18
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
God
told the children of Israel the same things He is saying to the church today,
That was then this is now!
Sure
you’ve come through some hard times.
Sure
you may have faced some storms.
You
may have lost a few good seasons of blessings.
You
may have missed God in times past.
But
That was then, this is now!
You
may even have seen God do mighty wonderful things in the past.
But
that was then this is now! This is a new day.
19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Church
there is a new thing with a new season that is springing forth!
It’s
not a gradual thing, I mean God says, "it is springing forth, I’m
launching it forward into your lives.
Hallelujah
we’re not going backwards anymore, we’re going forward now! God is doing a
new thing in you to produce a new season Now!!
See
we look for seasons, season of reaping, seasons of being blessed, season of
plenty, as though the season is going to produce and reveal the things of God,
But
what I think we may have failed to understand is that God has appointed to every
thing a season, Seasons in our lives are appointed by God according to the
things that are in our lives.
Proverbs
18;22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,
When
you get married I promise you, one season is over and another begins.
When
a baby is born in a family whether you are ready or not, that little thing
produces a new season.
I
remember many years ago I bought a new Buick. And as soon as I drove it upon the
church lot a new season manifested. Some people who didn’t care for me started
liking me! Others who said that were our friends quit the church!
New
Things produce new seasons!
There
are new things God has ordered for you and me but delivery can’t come because
we are still possessed with things whose season is over!
To
everything there is a season and the big plans God has for you are not going to
happen until you release the past!
God
says, Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;
At
the beginning of every new year I have to really pay attention in writing checks
to make sure I don’t write the wrong year in the check.
Inevitably
I will do it every year. I’ll write the former year instead of the current
year.
See
it’s easy to get caught up in the former things because we’ve lived with
them so long we have develop involuntary actions.
We
just do it that way because we’ve done it that way for so long we can do it
with out thinking.
Just
as in writing a check, in the new thing God is doing we are going to need to pay
attention and keep our mind on the new thing lest the former thing try to take
over. We must develop new actions!
The
story is told of the Big Brown bear who all of his life had lived in a cage on
wheels and was used as a side show in the Carnival.
His
only movement was 12 paces to the left and grunt and growl then we paces to the
right and grunt and growl. That was all he knew all of his life.
As
the bear grew old someone was moved with compassion for the old bear and
purchased him from the carnival in order to let him live out his live in a zoo
with more space to roam.
However
when it came time to remove him from his cage it became most difficult only
because all he knew was 12 paces to the left and grunt and growl then we paces
to the right and grunt and growl.
Finally
after prodding him and forcing him out of the cage with more freedom than he had
ever known, all he
would do was 12 paces to the left and grunt and growl then we paces to the right
and grunt and growl.
His
world was totally consumed with former things! Even though the cage was
gone. Even though the man with the whip was gone, In his mind he was still a
slave to the former things,
Is
there any wonder Why God would tell us
18
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;
I
believe God is calling on us to reach for the new thing that God is doing!
God
promised the children of Israel a land that was flowing with milk and
honey. God heard them crying and came down to bring them into not only a
new land but a new season!
As
long as the Children of Israel refused the new thing they still lived in the
former season!
ITS
A NEW SEASON!" God’s doing a new thing!
Hebrews
11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen.
Faith
is the substance of things
Faith
is the evidence of things
A
season is a period in our lives when something is to occur! Something is
supposed to happen!
If
you’re ready for your break through God will not allow anything former thing
to keep you from the new season!
Mistakes,
Former marriages, Bad Credit, Bad relationships, Health problems, It doesn’t
matter,
satan
will always try to make you believe things about yourself that are completely
untrue, You are still the apple of God’s eye.
The
new thing holds tremendous opportunity. So enter with your head high,
knowing in your heart, This is your season.
Put
the mistakes of yesterday behind you. Let go of the pain of the past and
never allow those events to dictate your future.
Sure
the devil thought you would have given up by now. But, refuse to stop short of
your destiny. Keep reaching for the things of God and building your
dreams.
"Remember
not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a
new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a
way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah
43:18,19.
